Who Is Eligible?

First Northern welcomes anyone who lives or works in the following counties in Illinois to join: Boone, DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, Lee, McHenry, Ogle, Stephenson, Will and Winnebago. Those who live or work in the City of Evanston. We also encourage employers in these counties to contact us to learn more about offering this no-cost benefit of membership to their employees.
We also serve Select Employee Groups. See below for a list of companies that participate in the employee benefit of membership in First Northern.

To join the credit union, click here. Print out the application. Then complete it, and sign and return it with your deposit of at least $5 to the credit union branch nearest you. Click here for locations.

We will deposit your funds into a Share Savings account to establish your membership. Then, you'll be sent a welcome letter from your personal Financial Service Advisor, who will be your primary contact.

Once a member, always a member.
Membership lasts a lifetime, even if you change jobs, retire, or move out of state. All you need to do is keep an active share savings account with us. In addition, family members of First Northern members are also eligible to join!
